My Journey
Hi! I’m Megan Kilpatrick. In 2006 at the age of 24, I was armed with a laptop, less confidence than you’d expect, and exactly one client. I quit my job and started freelancing as a graphic designer. No grand vision — just an overwhelming desire to control my own schedule.
Over the next 12 years, I achieved just about everything through trial and error, reading books, more trial and error, and truckloads of grit. I built a team, invested in the culture, leased the office of my dreams, scaled operations, and grew the annual revenue over $1M.
I also did a lot of the things people don’t talk about as much... got married, had kids, bought and sold houses, moved across the country, got divorced. Life didn’t pause just because I was growing a business.
In 2019, I sold the company I’d built from scratch. It wasn’t some Silicon Valley headline. But it was a real, hard-earned, holy-sh*t-this-actually-happened moment. And it was one of the best days of my life.
I didn’t do it alone, and you don’t have to either.
