Business Retreats

Space to think clearly again.

At $1M Breakthrough, business retreats are about creating space to think — about your work, your life, and what you want next.

When you’re running a business, that kind of space is hard to come by. Decisions pile up. You spend most days reacting instead of thinking. Over time, clarity and energy — two things business owners rely on — start to slip.

I’ve spent two decades building, leading, and advising service businesses ranging from early-stage to $100M in revenue, and I’ve seen the same pattern over and over.

Strong leaders rarely get uninterrupted time to think.

These retreats exist to make room for that again.

An approach, not a formula

There’s a plan and a rhythm to the retreat, without it feeling rigid. The point is to step out of your routine long enough to think clearly again.

Each retreat is designed around a shared stage of business. That keeps conversations relevant without narrowing perspectives or pushing everyone toward the same conclusions. Different viewpoints are part of the value.

The goal is that you leave with more clarity and more energy than you arrived with.

The retreats support that, without forcing outcomes or prescribing answers.

At their core, the retreats are built around:

  • Time away from daily demands

  • Long stretches without interruption

  • Real conversation with people who understand the responsibility of ownership

  • A pace that makes thinking easier.

I facilitate the experience with the perspective of someone who has sat in the leadership seat — managing teams, navigating growth, handling client pressure, and making decisions that affect real people. My role is to guide the rhythm, ask the questions that matter, and help conversations move from surface-level to powerful.

The focus is on thoughtful work and honest conversation.

Retreats are especially useful when

  • Stuck in Reactive Mode

You’re moving quickly but not reflecting deeply

  • Mis-alignment

The business is mostly working, but something feels off — you’re drained

  • People Problems

Complex human dynamics make growth feel painful or impossible

  • Future-Planing

You sense a change coming and want perspective before acting

Small by Design

When retreats are offered, they’re intentionally small. That’s what allows the experience to feel calm and unforced — and makes it easier to think without feeling any need to perform or pretend.

How this fits within $1M Breakthrough

Business retreats are separate from Breakthrough Circles, but they fit naturally alongside them.

Breakthrough Circles provide ongoing peer support. Retreats are a chance to step out of routine, reset, and regain perspective.

Breakthrough Circle members may be invited to retreats when it makes sense, and retreats may also be open to people who aren’t part of a Breakthrough Circle.

If a retreat like this sounds useful — even if you’re not sure when — raise your hand. Our conversation might influence the next retreat I create.
